As previously reported, Beyonce fans came at Karrueche Tran HARD after Chris Brown’s girlfriend recited a joke about her daughter, Blue Ivy, on BET.

BET’s 106 & Park aired a segment entitled “top six things Blue Ivy thought about the VMAs,” with Tran doing the honors of reading off the one-liners.

“‘I really did wake up like this because my parents never combed my hair,'” Karrueche said as Blue Ivy, before laughing. “Sorry, Blue! I love you!”

Fans absolutely lost their minds on Karrueche, who Tweeted, “Now y’all know I LOVE me some Beyonce and Blue Ivy! I didn’t write this script y’all lol”

Tran appeared flustered even as she read the joke on air, and it turns out she was right about not penning the joke. The network owned up to that.

Stephen G. Hill, president of music programming and specials for BET, took to Twitter to apologize and clear the air about what went down, writing:

  • “Last night on 106 & Park there was a stupid, unthoughtful joke made about a young child.”
  • “We apologize publicly to the child’s parents (and have done so privately) and we have taken punitive actions with those responsible.”
  • “It was very bad judgment and we will serve you much better in the future.”
  • “Oh, and please don’t hate on Karrueche; it was NOT her fault. We also apologize to her for putting her in that position.”
  • This isn’t the first time Blue Ivy’s natural hair has caused controversy.

Earlier this summer, a Brooklyn resident created an insensitive petition to make Bey and Jay comb Blue Ivy’s hair. Not that she seems to care at all.

Blue is too busy being fierce and flawless, as she proved while watching her mom at the VMAs. BET? Karrueche? Ain’t nobody got time for that.
