Jason Bateman -- Out of Line at iPhone Event -

Jason Bateman stood in line with roughly 2,000 people hoping to take home the iPhone 4 today -- but his wait ended early, when one Apple employee plucked him out of line and escorted him in to the store.

It's unclear if Bateman took home the phone -- or if he was at the store for another reason -- but it didn't matter to the rest of the crowd, who shouted out some boos as the actor walked inside.

Apple had no comment.
