A high school softball player from Texas has died after being accidentally struck and run over by a teammate following a team dinner.
According to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, 14-year-old Emily Galiano, a freshman at Forney High School, was hit by a white Ford Jeep operated by a 16-year-old girl Tuesday evening.
Authorities say several high school girls were horsing around as they were getting into the Jeep at around 8pm in the 18000 block of Hollow Creek Drive in Forney when the teenage driver put the vehicle in motion, not knowing that Galiano was standing behind it.
