Former U.S. President Donald Trump joked about the size of his daughter Tiffany's engagement ring just one day after her wedding.
Tiffany married Michael Boulos, the son of wealthy Lebanese parents, at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort on November 11 in Palm Beach.
Trump made the joke in a feature story about Toni Holt Kramer, the leader of "The Trumpettes," the women's group founded in 2015 to help Trump's first presidential campaign.
He was on the phone to Fox News' Sean Hannity telling him how rich Kramer was in the story published by the Financial Times.
"She's worth millions of dollars," he told Hannity. "She's got a ring on her that's worth $25 million; it's 48 carats."
Then one of the other Trumpettes in attendance reportedly asked him if Tiffany was given a diamond of the same size.
"It is not as big," Trump said to laughter.
Boulos, 25, proposed to Tiffany at the White House Rose Garden in 2021 with a $1.2 million diamond ring, People reported last year. She is Trump's daughter from his marriage to second wife Marla Maples.
The pair married in a lavish ceremony earlier this month after meeting on Mykonos in Greece in 2018.
He walked her down the aisle under a rhododendron-festooned arch with pink, white and blue flowers.
Two Dresses
Tiffany wore two dresses on the day, including one by Lebanese designer Elie Saab, as she chose to honor her new husband's nationality.
"I have always loved Elie Saab, and it's a Lebanese/American wedding so we are happy to have Elie create the magic," Tiffany told the Daily Mail.
Maples and Tiffany's half-sister Ivanka Trump, who served as bridesmaid, also wore Elie Saab for the nuptials.
Tiffany and Boulos had seven-foot-tall Sylvia Weinstock wedding cake, which paid homage to the cake Tiffany's parents had at their 1993 nuptials, when she was a baby.
Maples revealed Tiffany and Boulos decided to marry at Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence because "this was Tiffany's childhood home and where she was brought into the world."
Along with joking about Tiffany's engagement ring, Trump also complained about having to wear a tuxedo.
He was speaking at the Zionist Organization of America's annual gala in New York City after her wedding when he made the comments.
"I hate putting on a tuxedo. But, in honor of Israel, I decided that I think I should wear a tuxedo tonight," Trump said, according to a tweet by The Forward senior political reporter Jacob Kornbluh.
Trump attended the ZOA event to receive the Theodor Herzl Medallion for his pro-Israel and pro-Jewish actions while he was president.
The ZOA "rarely gives" the award and honored Trump "for being the best friend Israel ever had in the White House," according to the Jewish News Syndicate.
